IDENTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Acceptable Forms of ID include:

  • U.S. Passport or any Officially Recognized Passport of any Foreign Country.

  • U.S. Passport Card issued by the U.S. Department of State.

  • A U.S. Driver's License or ID card Issued by any U.S. State.

  • ID Card issued by a U.S. Federally Recognized Indian Tribe.

  • A Document Issued by any U.S. Federal, State, County, or Local Govt.

  • An ID card issued by the Oregon DMV, a Learner’s Permit, a Provisional or a Limited Term Driver License. Temporary Driver’s Licenses or ID's are only good for 30 days after expiration.

  • All forms of ID's must contain the person's photo and signature.

  • ID'S can be expired up to 3 years before date of notarization.

IDENTIFICATION SPECIAL NOTES:

A Confined Person, in a Correctional Facility, may use the ID that the correctional facility uses to positively identify an inmate. An examination or comparison of official government documents or records will be required.

Each party requesting our Mobile Notary Public Services is REQUIRED to provide identification, per Oregon State Law, as outlined Herein.

A copy or photograph of a driver’s license or any other form of ID, is NOT acceptable to confirm the identity of an individual. Any ID presented must be the original issued by the State or Federal Government.

If you DO NOT have an acceptable form of ID, we will NOT be permitted to Notarize or Attest any documents for you.

A Notarial Officer in Oregon may refuse to perform a notarial act, unless refusal is prohibited by law.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

As a Notarial Officer in Oregon, we may refuse to perform a notarial act if we are NOT satisfied that:

(a) The individual executing the record is competent or has the mental and emotional capacity to execute the record;

(b) The individual’s signature is knowingly and voluntarily made; or

(c) The individual has provided sufficient information or identification credentials necessary to confirm the identity of the individual.

NOTE: If an individual is physically unable to sign a record, the individual may direct an individual, other than the notarial officer, to sign the individual’s name on the record. The notarial officer shall insert “Signature Affixed by (name of the other individual) at the direction of (name of the individual)” or words of similar import.
